A Garden Dream Come True: Kara & John's Romantic Eastern Shore Wedding at Bayside Resort Community (05.31.25)

ree

I first met Kara and her sweet mom, Kathy, back in April 2024. From day one, their vision for this wedding was crystal clear. Kathy told me that ever since Kara was a little girl, she dreamed of giving her a truly beautiful wedding day. Hearing that immediately struck a chord with me. I know how meaningful and emotional these moments are for families, and it’s always an honor (and a big responsibility) to help make those dreams a reality.

Kara’s vision was timeless and romantic, filled with lush florals in every shade of pink and peach. She wanted a garden-inspired wedding overflowing with flowers. The aisle would be lined with

floral gardens, a stunning U-shaped arch covered in blooms for the ceremony, and a reception space full of glowing candles and fragrant flowers.

Their venue, Signatures at Bayside Communities, is one of our absolute favorites. The team there is wonderful to work with, and the space is gorgeous, making it perfect for the elegant, floral-filled celebration Kara imagined.

But as every wedding planner and florist on Eastern Shore knows, sometimes Mother Nature has her own plans. The ceremony was supposed to take place on the golf course, but the weather that day was relentless. It rained, stormed, and even hailed. Kara really wanted to say “I do” outdoors, so all day long, everyone was glued to the radar, hoping the storm would pass before the 5 PM ceremony start.

While waiting on the weather, we moved indoors and started building the floral arch just in case. The venue had plenty of room for us to work, and we were determined to make sure Kara had her dream backdrop no matter what. Eventually, the decision was made to move the ceremony to the venue’s grand balcony since the golf course was completely soaked.

Thanks to an incredible team of vendors working together, you would never know there had been so much uncertainty leading up to the big moment. The ceremony looked absolutely breathtaking. The sun even peeked out just in time, Kara looked stunning, and the live music set the perfect tone for such a meaningful celebration.

From the moment Kara walked down the aisle to the last dance of the evening, the entire day radiated love, joy, and beauty. You could feel the happiness between Kara and John and see how much both families adored one another. It was a truly unforgettable day, and I feel so lucky we were trusted to help bring it to life.
